Good week

This has been a good week for me. Tuesday our landlord came for a quarterly inspection, so everything was squeaky clean. Not that she was checking for squeaky clean, but it's best for the place to be squeaky clean so as not to distract from the inspection's purpose, which is to make sure we haven't been trashing the place, and to see if we need anything fixed. A clean house is always refreshing and renewing. Granted, the place is always acceptably clean, but to have everything as clean as it gets all at once is really neat.

Yesterday was my "goal day" on the wii fit. And I actually reached my short term goal! I lost 5lbs last month! Well, according to the wii board on the carpet, which isn't always reliable. I really need a new battery for my scale. Aren't those batteries supposed to last forever? But no. It died in the move, because it was pushed up against something that kept it on the whole time. I did weigh myself on the real scale at curves today, and it said 179! Which is about where I left off when I stopped counting on a real scale, but I've never been below 181 on a Curves scale, so I count it as awesome.

As far as the job hunt goes, the family I interviewed with last week decided to "go a different direction". I'm not exactly sure what that means... you would think they would just say "we chose someone else". But that's ok. The pay probably wasn't worth it anyway. I went to a baby shower last weekend for one of my old room mates, who said she would let her boss know about me, but her boss has been out of town and won't be back until Monday. Also, I applied for a "real job" as an assistant genealogist for ProGenealogists in Salt Lake. I'm pretty sure I would love that job, but I'm also pretty sure they won't hire me because I have zero experience outside of that one semester when I nearly killed myself to finish giant family history projects for two different classes. But I applied anyway, and I think I wrote a pretty convincing and awesome cover letter. That was Wednesday. No word yet.

Today I get to see a good friend. She has something to tell me, and I hope it's that she's engaged. Or at least almost engaged :)
