February

This has already been quite a month. My grandpa died almost 2 weeks ago, and luckily I got to be a part of the memorial service last weekend since his family came here to bury him in Brigham City, UT. Of course I wanted to be home for the funeral, but last minute plane tickets are kind of out of the question. And it's almost like I didn't miss anything since Aunt Alice came to give her eulogy again and my parents sang their beautiful song. Dad asked me to get the grandkids together for a musical number, so we sang Be Still My Soul. It turned out really well. The rest of the grandkids sang at home - My Heavenly Father Loves Me. It was a special treat to spend time with my family in Brigham City, which is such an important place for our family history. My dad brought names to search for in the graveyard, which he finally found after the grave digger opened the office especially for him to get a map. We also got to watch the guy put the cement vault into the grave. There were quite a few people at the memorial service. Lots of grandma's family were there, along with some of grandpa's cousins from Brigham City. He was really good at keeping in touch with anyone who might be remotely related to him. He loved studying his family history and meeting long lost relatives. I'm so glad I got to hear so many memories from all times of my grandpa's life. I'm sad that Hannah won't get to meet her great grandpa in this life, but I'm sure they know each other anyway. I feel extra blessed that I thought to ask my grandpa at Christmas time if he had any of his mother's scrapbooks that I might borrow. Everything he had was much too overwhelming to bring with me, but the things I did come away with are priceless. I even have grandpa's baby book. He left me a project too - to type and publish the letters his father wrote home from his mission. He said if there was anything he should have done for his siblings that was it. I told him I would do it. So I have in my possession more than 2 years worth of letters from my great grandfather. I created a blog for them, and so far I've typed up 13 of them. They are so much fun to read.

As far as a baby update... I'm at 31 weeks now. Well into my third trimester and still feeling strong. 62 days to go :) Mom kept rubbing my tummy while she was here trying to feel her move, but no luck yet. Apparently Hannah is shy, because every time I tell Mom or Stephen that they should be able to feel her she stops. Stephen feels her all the time though when we are cuddling and reading scriptures. She's very active right before I go to sleep. Starting Wednesday I get to go to the doctor every 2 weeks instead of every month. That will make the weeks go even faster I think. I sure hope so, because I had to move back to a cubicle at work, and that makes the days go much slower. Two of my co-workers are hoping for babies this week (one of them will have hers for sure by wednesday) and I can't believe their time has come already. My baby shower is on Saturday, and mom is coming back for it. I'm excited to have a bunch of baby stuff in my house. I've always loved baby stuff :) I finished her blessing blanket except for the ribbons around the edge. I'll post a picture when I get the ribbons. I'll probably start another blanket for her though because the blessing blanket is meant to be an heirloom, and not an every day blanket.
