So last week I had a job interview at the post office in Washington, UT. At the end of the interview, the postmaster offered me a job, as a Saturday mail carrier. That's not much, but it's something. The next day I got an email from him saying that he could not offer me that position at this time, but there would be another position posted, and he encouraged me to apply for it. Then, the day after that he called and left a message to say that his "first choice" had declined, and he had a job for me after all. First choice? He already offered me the job... Anyway, he wasn't in on Monday when I called, and yesterday he called me again to say that he had a full time position for me if I wanted it, the one I applied for in the first place. So now I have a full time job! I don't actually know when it starts yet... I'm supposed to be getting an email about doing a drug test and a driving test in the next few days, but I haven't yet. As soon as all that gets done, I will be assigned training so that I can start. So I'm going to be a mail carrier. I get to drive the truck and everything. But I don't get to wear the uniform. lol. It's going to be hot and yucky for a couple months in a truck with no AC, but I think I'll live. It should be a great experience for me. Everyone keeps telling me how competitive it is to get that job, and I had no idea when I applied. It didn't seem so hard to me. Anyway, I'm pretty excited, and I count this as a great blessing for Stephen and I. I think maybe we'll finally be able to get ahead a little, and that will definitely be a relief.
