Hannah started out seeming indifferent to bath time, and to any water based activity at that. When I took her home this summer, I got her in the pool a couple of times, and even put her feet in the waves at the beach. Her reaction to both experiences was pretty non-existent. I guess four months is a bit young to test a kid's appreciation for those sorts of things. I was a little disappointed though, since I'm such a fan of every water activity you can think of. Now that Hannah is a bit older, she's discovered how awesome bath time is, and it's so fun to watch her play! I vowed never to take pictures of my babies naked in the bathtub, but I sure get tempted on days like today.
This morning after a very stinky diaper (which daily shortens nap time) I stuck Hannah in a little bubble bath. I have a no-slip bathmat in the bottom of the tub so she doesn't slide around so much, and a few Finding Nemo toys that we got her for Christmas. Nemo usually floats just below the bubbles, and Hannah loves to follow him around. For some reason when there are bubbles in the tub, she is more likely to try and drink the bath water. She has gotten good this week at blowing spit bubbles, and you can imagine how much bigger they were with a mouthful of bubbly bath water. She also figured out this morning how to blow bubbles under the water. I thought that I would be more worried about my kids drinking bathwater or accidentally breathing it when they inevitably went under, but after watching closely I've noticed that babies seem to come already knowing how to deal with water pretty well. Or at least they learn fast.
For now, there will be no pictures of my adorable baby with her face covered in bubbles. Just imagine how cute she is.
