The Wedding Post

Today I have brought my computer to Stephen's work with the purpose of writing a complete and satisfactory wedding post for all to enjoy. Complete with a few pictures. But there are like 750 of them, and that's just from the professional photographer, so I'm only going to pick my very favorites for now. Maybe if we ever get the internet in our apartment I could post a wedding picture of the week. So, here it goes!

On October 24, 2009 I was married in the Washington DC Temple to my very favorite person and best friend in the whole world, Stephen Howard Aldridge.

The whole week before the wedding was pretty hectic with last minute plans and friends and family coming into town. Stephen arrived on Wednesday on the same plane with two of my very best friends from Provo, Amelia and Liz. Aunt Robin and Aunt Terry arrived later that night. Thursday my friend Kristin arrived, and Friday morning my mom and sister and Aunt Rae and Amelia went with her and her mom to pick up all the wedding flowers. I wish I had pictures of the flower warehouse. It was really something. Kristin did a wonderful job with the flowers. They were perfect!

Friday afternoon, Stephen and I took our wedding clothes up to the temple grounds and met up with our photographer and his wife, the Baileys. Amelia and Sister Bailey did a stellar job helping me into my dress, and we spent a couple of hours getting some fabulous photos the day before the wedding, so that it wouldn't take as long to do pictures after wards. We were also afraid it would rain on Saturday, so we thought it wise to do what we could before that happened.

Friday night Stephen's family came for dinner at my house. We ordered pizza and had quite a good time together. I wanted to watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but we didn't. At 11:30 that night, Amelia and I went to the airport to pick up our friend Sarah June, who I hadn't seen in nearly two years. Needless to say, I did not sleep much that night.

I got up on Saturday and did my hair and make up and we were off to the temple! We were late, but not the latest. And I have no idea how late we were because there are no clocks in the temple, and I'm glad of that. There were so many friends and family there with us at the sealing, and even more waiting outside. I was really overwhelmed by the love I felt from everyone. It was such a beautiful experience, and I was especially grateful that my brother Jay and sister Rebecca were able to attend.

There were lots of people waiting for me to finally be ready for more pictures.
